ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2

Eight cameras cut live, streamed straight from the box, and every source recorded as its own file. The Blackmagic switcher that runs conference stages and hybrid town halls — hired in Bengaluru with a Gloworks operator running it.

Why this one

Eight inputs is the difference between covering an event and compromising on it

Most small switchers stop at four. That is enough for a podcast and tight for anything on a stage — you end up unplugging a camera to show a slide. Here is what the extra inputs are actually spent on.

Conference stage

Wide, centre and roving cameras, the presenter's laptop, the house slide feed and a lectern camera — six inputs before anyone has asked for a second angle on the audience.

Hybrid town hall

Room cameras plus a laptop carrying the remote callers, so people dialling in appear on the venue screens and in the stream as sources you can cut to.

Panel and awards

A camera per seat, a wide, a stage camera for the walk-up, and a graphics feed for names and categories — cut without ever missing a reaction.

Sport and community events

Multiple pitch angles, a replay feed off the Thunderbolt port, and a scorebug overlay driven from our scoreboard tool on the same output.

And because it is the ISO model, all eight are recorded separately while the cut goes out — so one event also becomes the highlights film and the month of clips afterwards.

How it goes out

The switcher comes with the person who runs it

This is a crewed rental. Every booking includes a Gloworks operator for the whole event — rigging it, cutting it, riding the audio and confirming the recordings before the room clears. We do not hire the unit out on its own.

01

Eight inputs is a full-time job

Watching sixteen multiview panes, calling the next shot, riding the audio and keeping the keyers clean is not something you do between other tasks. On a live show there is no second take.

02

The stream is the deliverable

Bitrate, the venue's network, the encoder settings, the platform's ingest — the failure modes are all upstream of the switcher, and someone has to have tested the whole chain before doors rather than at go-live.

03

The recordings have to actually exist

ISO files are worthless if a card filled up in the second hour or a record never armed. Our operator confirms the media before the room clears, not the next morning.

Tech specs

What the switcher does

Need a format, a protocol or a specific camera body confirmed? Ask before you book — we will test it on the actual unit rather than guess from a datasheet.

Video inputs

HDMI inputs
8 × HDMI, up to 1080p60
Standards conversion
On every input — cameras, laptops and consoles running different formats and frame rates go into the same show without external converters
Simultaneous sources
All 8 live at once, plus the media player and Thunderbolt playback
Source compatibility
Any camera, laptop, console or player with a clean HDMI out. We test your specific bodies before the booking

Video outputs

HDMI outputs
3 × HDMI, independently routable
Output assignment
Program, preview, multiview, a clean feed or any single input, per output
Multiview
Up to 16 views on one monitor — every source with tally, custom labels and audio meters
Webcam out
USB-C to a computer as a standard webcam, for Zoom, Teams or Meet with no capture card
What we use them for
Typically one to the operator's multiview, one to a confidence monitor for the client, one to the venue's screens or projector

Switching & effects

Nine layers of composition, all of it live. This is the part that separates the Extreme from a four-input switcher: a lower third, a logo bug, a picture-in-picture and a keyed presenter can all be on screen at the same time.

Layers
Up to 9 simultaneous layers on the program output
Keyers
4 upstream and 2 downstream keyers
Chroma key
Up to 4 chroma keyers — real-time green screen, no post
Linear key
Up to 4 linear keyers for graphics with proper alpha
Picture-in-picture
DVEs with borders and drop shadow — presenter over slides, multi-box panels
Generators
5 pattern generators and 2 colour generators
Transitions
Cut, mix, dip, wipe and DVE, on the auto button or the hardware fader
Media player
Stills and clips held on the unit — stings, logos, lower thirds, holding slides

Audio

Mixer
26 × 2 channel — 8 HDMI embedded, MADI, the XLRs and Thunderbolt
XLR inputs
2 × XLR combo with 48V phantom power
MADI input
Takes a multi-channel digital feed straight from a venue's audio console instead of a stereo mix
Per-channel processing
Compressor, gate, limiter and 6-band parametric EQ
Channel modes
On, off or audio-follow-video per channel, with separate gain
Why it matters
A stream is forgiven a soft camera and never forgiven bad sound — this takes the house desk's feed properly rather than a camera's on-board mic

Recording

The reason to specify the ISO model. A live cut is one video; ISO gives you every camera as its own file, so the same event can be re-edited afterwards into something that isn't just the stream.

ISO recording
All 8 inputs recorded separately, plus the program cut
Format
H.264 .mp4 up to 70 Mb/s with AAC audio — uploadable as-is
Media
CFexpress Type B in the unit, or external drives on the 2 × USB-C 3.1 ports
DaVinci Resolve project
Written alongside the files, so the whole show reopens as an edit timeline with every cut already in place
Network recording
10G Ethernet for recording straight to fast network storage
Run length
Limited by the media, not the switcher — we size the cards to your run time

Streaming

Streaming engine
Built into the hardware — it streams over Ethernet with no computer in the chain
Protocols
RTMP and SRT
Platforms
YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitch, Instagram, or any platform that gives you an RTMP or SRT endpoint
Connection
The venue's wired network, or a shared connection over USB-C from a laptop or phone as a fallback
Zoom, Teams and Meet
Over the USB webcam out — the switcher joins the call as the camera and microphone
Stream and record together
ISO recording continues while streaming, so the archive is not just the stream

Control & panel

Control surface
Integrated panel — lit source-select buttons, a hardware T-bar fader and rotary controls
Tally
Red for program and green for preview, on the panel and multiview
Macros
A rehearsed sequence of moves fired from a single button
Software control
ATEM Software Control from a laptop over Ethernet or USB-C, alongside the panel
Thunderbolt
Capture and playback with fill and key — graphics software or DaVinci Resolve for live replay
Networking
1G Ethernet for streaming and control, 10G for recording
Power
Mains via the supplied PSU. Included in the kit

The rental

Hired as a crewed service, not as a bare box. Everything below is what a booking actually includes.

Operator
Included and required — the switcher does not go out on its own
Booking length
Half day or full day, with rig and de-rig inside it
Rate
Quoted per event — it depends on camera count, crew, hours and venue
Setup time
2–3 hours before doors for a multi-camera stage, less for a single-room setup
Coverage
Bengaluru city-wide. Travel quoted outside the city
Cameras
Rent them with the switcher, or we rig around the ones you have
Deliverables
The live stream, the program recording and every ISO file
Deposit
Refundable deposit and valid ID, per our rental terms

What arrives

The switcher is the middle of a larger rig. Cameras, lenses, lighting and audio hire alongside it, so one booking covers the whole setup instead of three suppliers meeting at your venue.

What we take it out for

Conferences & summits

Stage cameras, presenter slides and a roving camera, live to the room and the internet.

Product launches

A demo feed, stage cameras and a graphics pack, streamed to YouTube and LinkedIn at once.

Hybrid town halls & AGMs

The room on the stream, remote callers on the room screens, and a clean archive after.

Awards & cultural programmes

A camera per angle and keyed name graphics, cut live so nothing is missed on stage.

Sports & tournaments

Multi-camera coverage with a live scorebug overlay and replay off the Thunderbolt port.

Worship & community events

A repeatable multi-camera setup with macros, so every week looks the same on the stream.

Running a full event rather than hiring a box? Our live event coverage service wraps the crew, cameras and edit around it.

Where we take it

Delivered and operated across Bengaluru

We are based in HSR Layout and rig this kit in hotel ballrooms, tech-park auditoriums, convention centres, college halls and community grounds across the city. Outside Bengaluru we quote travel separately.

How booking works

  1. 01

    Tell us the event

Date, venue, how many cameras and speakers, and where it is going — a stream, a recording, the room screens, or all three.

  2. 02

    We map the inputs

Which source lands on which input, where the cable runs go, what the network can carry. For a big stage we recce the venue first.

  3. 03

    We quote it fixed

Switcher, operator, and any cameras, lighting or audio you need with it. One price, no day-of surprises.

  4. 04

We rig, run and hand over

Tested well before doors, operated through the event, de-rigged after. Program cut and every ISO file confirmed on site.

Questions

Can I rent the ATEM Mini Extreme ISO G2 without an operator?

No. It goes out as a crewed rental with a Gloworks operator running it for the whole booking. Eight inputs, a keyer stack and a live stream is a full-time job during a show, and a missed cut or a recording that never armed cannot be fixed afterwards.

How many cameras can you actually run on it?

Eight HDMI sources at once, and in practice that is four to six cameras plus a laptop for slides and a spare input for playback or a remote feed. Tell us the room and we will map the inputs before the day rather than on it.

Do we get every camera recorded separately, or just the live cut?

Both. The ISO model records all eight inputs as their own H.264 files alongside the program cut, and writes a DaVinci Resolve project so the whole show reopens as an edit timeline. That is how one event becomes a highlights film and a month of social clips instead of a single long stream.

Can you stream to YouTube and run a Zoom or Teams call at the same time?

Yes. The built-in engine streams over Ethernet by RTMP or SRT with no computer in the chain, while a separate output feeds a laptop as a webcam for the call. The venue screens run off a third output.

What internet does the venue need?

A wired line to the switcher is what we ask for — venue Wi-Fi is shared with every guest in the room and is the most common reason a stream stutters. We test the actual connection during setup and set the bitrate to what it will really hold, and can fall back to a mobile connection over USB-C.

How much does it cost to hire in Bangalore?

It is quoted per event, because camera count, crew, hours and the venue matter far more than the box. Send us the date, the venue and roughly how many cameras and speakers, and we will come back with a fixed price.

Which parts of Bengaluru do you cover?

All of it — we are based in HSR Layout and regularly work Koramangala, Indiranagar, Whitefield, Electronic City, the central hotels and the tech parks on Sarjapur and Bannerghatta Road. Outside the city we quote travel separately.

Can you put our branding, lower thirds or a scoreboard on the stream?

Yes. Four upstream keyers and the media player handle logos, lower thirds and full-frame cards, and for sport we drive a live scorebug from our own scoreboard tool onto the same output. Send artwork ahead of the day and we will build the pack in advance.

Do you supply the cameras as well?

Usually, yes — the switcher is the middle of a larger kit. We rent cameras, lenses, tripods, lighting and audio alongside it so one booking covers the whole setup, or we rig around the cameras you already have.

How far in advance should we book?

A week is comfortable. For a conference stage or anything with a multi-camera rig, give us two so we can recce the venue, check the network and plan the cable runs. Short notice is worth asking about — it depends what else is out that day.

Book the switcher and the operator together

Send us the date and the venue and we will confirm availability and a fixed price. Also renting the RØDECaster Video? The two go out together often.
