Gloworks Studio · Cohort 01 · Kochi + Bengaluru
Learn to run a live broadcast,
not just watch one.
A small, in-person cohort for people who want to sit behind the switcher — multi-cam cutting, audio, encoding, rigging and the whole job of putting a live event on air. Real gear, real events, twelve to fifteen people.
- 12–15 per cohort
- Hands-on with real gear
- Kochi & Bengaluru
- Off-season dates, TBD
The gap
Every weekend there's a live event nobody knows how to cover.
Community football, school tournaments, college fests, church services, weddings, launches — more of them are being streamed every year, and almost all of it is being figured out on the day by someone holding one camera and hoping.
The craft side of this is teachable. Where to put three cameras, when to cut, how to get commentary into the mix, what bitrate a venue's uplink will actually hold, how to power a rig for four hours in a field. None of it is secret. There is just nowhere in India to go and learn it with your hands.
What exists instead: online courses that teach the theory to a webcam, broadcast-journalism diplomas built for TV newsrooms, and creator bootcamps abroad. Useful, none of them the thing — which is a room, a switcher, a real match, and someone telling you the cut was late.

The outline
What the cohort covers
A rough shape, not a syllabus — the detail gets set once the dates and the venue for each city are locked.
Multi-cam switching & program cutting
Where the three cameras go so the cut has somewhere to land. Reading a match. Cutting live, on the clock, with no undo — and recovering when you cut to the wrong thing.
Audio that doesn't ruin the stream
Mic choice for a field and a hall, gain staging, commentary and talkback, keeping audio in sync with the switched program, and monitoring so you hear the problem before the audience does.
Streaming, encoding & platforms
Bitrate against the uplink a venue actually has, bonded 4G, RTMP keys, YouTube and Facebook and Instagram, redundancy, and testing the whole chain before anyone arrives.
On-site rigging & battery power
Cable runs that survive a crowd, SDI versus HDMI over distance, V-mount and mains power for a four-hour day, and packing a kit that goes up in forty minutes.
Graphics, lower thirds & scorebugs
Names, scores, clocks and sponsor loops — built so they stay legible on the phone screen most people will be watching on, not just on your monitor.
Running a broadcast start to finish
A full live event as the crew: call sheet, load-in, pre-roll, kickoff, half-time, wrap, and the runbook for when a camera dies eleven minutes in.
Who it's for
You already own a camera. This is the other half of the job.
- EVENT
Event videographers
Who keep getting asked "can you also stream it?" and keep saying yes before knowing how.
- COLLEGE
College AV & media teams
Running fests, convocations and inter-college matches on equipment nobody trained you on.
- WORSHIP
Church & community media volunteers
Streaming every week, learning from forum posts, carrying the whole thing alone.
- WEDDING
Wedding videographers adding live
Adding a live feed to a package you already sell, without risking the shoot you were hired for.
- STUDENT
Students & new operators
Who want a real credit and a real skill, not a certificate. Bring curiosity, not gear.
Format
How it runs
- COHORT
- 12–15 people
Small enough that everyone gets real time on the switcher, not a demo they watched.
- MODE
- Hands-on, in person
Our own production gear, a room set up as a control room, and a live event to cover as a crew.
- CITIES
- Kochi & Bengaluru
Both cities run the same cohort. Tell us which one you'd come to when you register.
- TIMING
- Off-season — dates TBD
Scheduled between shoots so working crew can actually attend. Dates go to this list first.
- PRICE
- Not set yet
Registering interest costs nothing and commits you to nothing. We'll tell you before we ask you.
- OUTCOME
- You've run one
You leave having put a live broadcast on air yourself, start to finish, with people watching.
The rack
Gear you'll actually have your hands on
The kit Gloworks shoots and streams on — not a classroom set. Exact line-up per city depends on what's back from hire that week.
- CAM
Sony FX30
Cinema-line body. The camera a lot of event work in India is genuinely shot on.
- CAM
Sony A7 IV
Clean HDMI out and full-frame — the crossover body most people already own or rent.
- SW
Blackmagic ATEM Mini Pro ISO
Four inputs, hardware streaming and ISO recording of every camera. The heart of the cut.
- AUD
RØDECaster
Mics, commentary, talkback and a mix you can actually ride while the show is running.
- ENC
YoloBox-class all-in-one
Battery-powered switcher, encoder, monitor and graphics in one box — what makes a two-person broadcast possible in a field.
Straight up
What this page is not
- There are no dates yet. We're building the first cohort around when enough people in one city can actually make it.
- There's no price yet, and no deposit. Nothing here takes payment.
- The outline above is a shape, not a syllabus. It will change based on who registers.
- If you register, you get an email when the dates and the price are real. That's the whole deal.
